Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile email). We do not store your Google password.
When you add competitors to track, we store the URLs and business names you provide, along with the monitoring results we generate (scraped content snapshots, diff summaries, Google/Yelp rating history, and change events).
We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and request timestamps. These are used for security and debugging purposes only.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the CompTrack monitoring service on your behalf.
- To send you email alerts and weekly digest reports about competitor changes you've opted into.
- To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe (if you upgrade to Pro).
- To improve the reliability and accuracy of our monitoring algorithms.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build profiles for third-party ad networks.
3. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your competitor data to any third party — ever. Your competitor lists are proprietary to your account.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following sub-processors to operate CompTrack:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions.
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Google — optional OAuth sign-in; Google Places API for rating data.
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data processing agreement. We do not share more data with them than is necessary for service operation.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and monitoring history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and monitoring data within 30 days, except where required to retain records for legal or billing purposes.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@comptrack.app. You may also delete your account directly from the Settings page, which will initiate permanent data deletion.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed password storage, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the app. Continued use of CompTrack after changes go into effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
